PIRATES INVADE PORT SALERNO Blackbeard’s Pirate Ship on display at the Port Salerno Seafood Festival!
PORT SALERNO — On January 28th from 10am to 8pm, Pirates will invade the waterfront of Port Salerno for the Sixth Annual Port Salerno Seafood Festival. Pirates of the Treasure Coast (a Florida based group of independent pirate characters) will return with Blackbeard’s Pirate Ship and many charismatic and fun-loving pirates to interact with visitors that come out to indulge in the fresh seafood, live music and arts and craft shopping. Our scaled down replica pirate ship will be on display in Manatee Park by Pirate’s Cove Resort during this amazing, fun-filled event put on by the Port Salerno Commercial Fishing Dock Authority.
Even more food will be available at the Seafood Festival this year to accommodate the 30,000+ attendees. This will consist of thousands of pounds of fresh fish, shark, calamari, oysters, shrimp and homemade chowders. Local fishermen of Port Salerno catch the majority of this seafood and with the help of their friends and families, prepare and serve their catches. Local restaurants also help round out the menu with select dishes served at the festival.
Each year the festival is very thankful for the hundreds of volunteers that help out manning the seafood and beer stands, parking areas and entrance gates, not to mention set-up and teardown.
The Port Salerno Seafood Festival will be accepting voluntary donations at the entrance gates. Your donation will help support The Port Salerno Commercial Fishing Dock Authority and several other non-profit organizations in and around the community such as the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranch, Port Salerno Elementary School, Keep Martin Beautiful, Treasure Coast Water Way Cleanup, The Port Salerno Christmas Jamboree, and many others.
The Port Salerno Commercial Fishing Dock Authority, Inc. is a not-for-profit trade association dedicated to preserving the heritage and integrity of the Commercial Fishing Industry in Port Salerno.
